Refund policy
CaterStation Refund & Cancellation Policy
At CaterStation, we pride ourselves on delivering outstanding catering experiences for corporate and private events. Because our orders are prepared fresh and require advance planning, our cancellation and refund terms are as follows.
1. Cancellations with 72+ Hours' Notice
If you cancel your order more than 72 hours before your scheduled delivery or event start time, you are eligible for a full refund to your original payment method.
2. Cancellations with 24–72 Hours' Notice
If you cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your scheduled delivery or event start time, you will receive 100% of the order value as CaterStation store credit.
Store credit is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and can be used towards any future catering order.
3. Cancellations with Less Than 24 Hours' Notice
No refunds or store credit will be issued for change-of-mind cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled delivery or event start time.
4. Order Adjustments
Reductions in guest numbers made after your order is confirmed will be treated as a partial cancellation and follow the same notice periods above.
Increases in guest numbers will be accommodated where possible and may incur additional charges.
5. Problems With Your Order
If something isn't right with your order — for example, food arrives damaged, incomplete, significantly late, or not as described — please contact us as soon as possible (and within 24 hours of delivery) at orders@caterstation.co.nz, ideally with photos. We will make it right with a replacement, store credit, or refund as appropriate and as required by law.
6. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes those consumer guarantees. If our food or service fails to meet a consumer guarantee — for example, it is not of acceptable quality, not fit for purpose, or does not match its description — you are entitled to a remedy. For a major failure you are entitled to choose a refund or replacement, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage; for a minor failure we may choose to provide a replacement, repair, or refund.
The cancellation terms in sections 1–4 apply to change-of-mind cancellations only. They do not apply where the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to a remedy.
7. Force Majeure & Exceptional Circumstances
In the rare event CaterStation must cancel your order due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, supplier failure, transport disruption), you will receive either a full refund or store credit at your choice.
8. Discretionary Goodwill
While our policy outlines the minimum terms, CaterStation may, at our sole discretion, offer refunds, store credit, or alternative solutions outside of these timeframes as a gesture of goodwill.
